Don't forget, that the actual burning part would be displaced by the fact that the burnt skin was then blasted away.
He was definitely holding something because his "claw" is still formed around it, kinda "death grip" like.
Dunno about 'exploded' but had a chemical burn from a smoke grenade once, and it went very very black, burnt the skin off in places and just hurt like f**king crazy! Knocked me out with pain. It didnt peel though just kinda went black. Granted it wasnt an explosive but my point is, if it was a rocket it still takes a few seconds to spit rocket fuel type stuff out and make it fly, and if it was anything like what I went through you wouldnt of been able to hold it for that amount of time. TRUST ME
