3. France has certainly had its pound of flesh from me!
4. Atmosphere - In our opinion there was none. Friday afternoon in the Players area was abs dead! (and I suspect this was the same for Friday morning) Teams were scattered about the Staging area and as I say no atmosphere at all, no music, nothing! Saturday was a bit better with all the M5 Teams but even then it was not a patch on all the previous Milleniums we have attended.
5. HOW FOOKING EXPENSIVE IS FRANCE!!! One round of drinks at the Hurricane Niteclub, a total of 7 Drinks cost €81.00, €81.00 for 7 Drinks!! and most other places were not that much cheaper!

Big question, was it worth it? No because the event itself, in our opinion, was not much to talk about and it was expensive.
3- My dog really appreciates it !!!
5- As a French people, i would like to say that Disney Resort (and hurricane niteclub) cannot be consider as.... France. I prefer said it looks like St James Cemetery near Arromanche : an US landscape surrounded by France !!! :D

Planet Piper away from you freaks!
I thought it was daft! Paintball is silly and should be stopped at all costs...................... Hang on wrong forum.................

I have a question, what was the reffing like for those that played? Normally teams will walk past the trade booth and say things like...... We were robbed bloody refs etc etc etc but I did not hear a lot of that. Now that could mean.
a) the refs where awesome and did not make a mistake
b) I just did not have the comment made to me as they are fed up with me saying......... are you sure your just not a poo team? :D

So for those that played let me know what the general thought is.

Thanks

Piper

One thing, why are you complaining about getting a 1-4-1 for a pack hit? they are they rules!

If you have a hit on you and are still playing, it's a 1-4-1, no ifs and buts. As long as you are in the game, you are affecting the game whether you know about it or not.

The less grey area there is the better the reffing becomes. If you're hit, and you play, it's a 1-4-1. That's not bad reffing.

What makes me laugh if teams try to quote the rule to you and don't even know them! Too funny!

i.e. last weekend a player asked for a check on the SPL field and I gave him the "clean" signal...he did not know the signal and kept still asking for a check....oh well! :D

We had 4 games on the SPL field an 1 on the CPL field.

Overall, the reffing was tough and it was easy to see that the guys worked their a$$ off to be fast, right in decisions and neutral as it used to be (personal view!). Especially checking for spikes was done before every game.

Before anyone complains about any bad calls, be sure they don´t allways happen only against your team :)

And please, they don´t even had 1 break on SPL/CPL (on saturday, the rest I don´t know 100%).

I think the reffing definatly improved with every event this year and I hope it´ll stay on this level (or even gets better) for 2008.

Thanks a lot for doin this unthankful job (and wakin up at 5.30, takin bad food all the time as a gift, beeing blamed for everything and so on ;) )!

4me the season 08 could start right now, would pretend me spending time with the female dragon....^^

Cheers,
Lex

Thanks for that dude! Pleasure and hope all teams share your views!

Btw...the team with the player who did not know the signal was not a SPL player but a Div 1 team.

Beaker - Bagpuss:
I am well aware of the Rules with regards to hits on packs or any other parts of the body. What I said was that they seemed to be over-zealous with the 1-4-1 rule, not just against us but all the Teams. The 'Pack hit' was perhaps not a good example to use but what I was trying to convey was the lack of malicious intent to play on or cheat in any other form. Also, look at my + Points in which I state that up until the Saturday all the Reffing was good, which in our opinion, it was.

Followthewhiterabbit:
The 'expensive' remark was not exclusive to Disney or the Hurricane Niteclub, everywhere we went things seemed to be pretty expensive.

Anyway, no biggie, all over and done with, the French have my cash and Disneyland Carpark has the tops of my kneecaps.;)

Big Question: Would we still go back next year? More than likely!

Highlight of the tournament: Paddy kicking Pikey's ass:p

Like PortoX and CJ said, few bad calls on the fields but atleast we won the ruggers. A one-4-one when you only have 4 players takes out half the team

Enjoyed the event very much, great being actually where it was supposed to be and not miles away. A little more signage around the place would have been nice to get some more spectators in but if a full season of events was as good as this one then there would be alot of happy ballers
dude not cool :p besides i didnt want to upset dave ;);)

i thought the refs were being a bit over zealous especially on the eclipse field, we had quite a few 1 4 1's, also players were being pulled when there was clearly no hits on them (not 1 4 1's) yet when we try to argue our point we are penalised, other than that though i thought it was an excellent event, the chips on site were v tasty:D
