Ok what an end to the 2007 series and Ionman 4 cracking event ! Some very good close games and even though a lot was at stake we had nothing but friendly comments and remarks all day. All teams like normal enemies on the field and friends of the field.

Massive massive thank you for supporting the 2007 and all your good words for the new 2008 series.

Today we had three outstanding rrefs on the field Gilly (a legend) Briski & Jonny. We could not have done so many games without your effort and non stop work.

Score wise it was done to the last match ! 1st Place 69 points Manc Lions (they even lost a game !!!!!!!) 2nd Place Universal Shadows (very close games with Manc Lions outstanding from both) 62 points. 3rd Place Fusion 1 again down to the last game !

Thanks Everyone !!

Even tho my team came 5th i had a excellent day, totally enjoyed myself! Thanks to the Russians for lending us a team member so we were able to play and letting me join thiers and help out! Must be said the refs were amazing, really makes a diffrence with top refs like that. Just wondered if anyone knows where i can look up the rules on the net? I must be missing something when a arm can be out of bounds and shot, but allowed to play on coz a arm isnt in play? Great sportsmanship was shown all day by all the teams and the refs done a great job of making sure people were not OVER bonus balled lol!

Thanks very much chris (and family) cant wait for next year!!!!!

i had an absolutely awesome day and it was an absolute pleasure to play.

great friendly atmosphere, competetve 'fair' paintball on the most part and some excellent close games. Cant wait for the 08 Ionman to begin.

Just want to say thanks to all the teams who have taken part in the Ionman this year and in particular manc lions and fusion who have been consistantly good at every event meaning everyone else had to up their game.

oh, almost forgot; congratulations to Manchester Lions, Ionman 2007 champions. well done guys.

Well what can I say, all in all a great set of events and a great finally to end the season.
From the very first one when some things we have come to expect at tournaments were lacking Chris (the Organiser) has striven to improve what is offered at every event and has succeeded fantastically.

The first time I ever saw Chris I was playing for the Manchester Lions at one of Bully's events and he was playing for his site team who were setting up next to us.
He told me of this idea he had of running a woodland event with guaranteed prize money of a thousand pounds per event, that will do I thought we will enter.
I expected to just go up there the once take some cash and not hear of the site again but I was wrong, he had some good support and was determined to complete the full series, and as I have said better and better each time.

This event was a low turnout but we all got started to try and get through our ten games each.
We had a weaker team this time as we had nobody spare to take the place of any of us who needed a rest (well at our age it is hard to play all day) and you have to remember we did have Colin on our team so we may have well played with four!! (sorry Colin :))
The weather played havoc with us most of the teams had problems with the paint but we just needed to go to the loo before every game!!!!
At the very end when the light had faded too much and ourselves not needing any points we decided not to play and in doing so gave Fusion Two the distinction of being the only team the entire series to take maximum points from the Lions!
Fusion one on the other hand played a great game on the barrel field in fading light and ended the game with the only live player on the field with the flag in his hand the first time one had been took from a Lions base in a very long time.
The time ran out before he could return it to his base and the score sheet recorded a body-count win, but in the true spirit of the game the truth is they became the first team to beat us in five years, So our congratulations to them and I look forward to many a battle next year.

With Chris being let down by a ref it left the three who turned up to do their best and they did a brilliant job and I could not fault any of their efforts at all, of course they missed stuff but their work ethic was spot on.
Some players unfortunately took advantage and played more in some of the games than they should have done, but you know what happens when players start to get that reputation, they just get shot again and again and again, ect ect, we don't want that do we.

Those Crazy Russians did not do so well this time but are coming on strong and I bet at the end of next season they will be up with trophy's.
Universal or whatever name they chose to play under next season will be a concern for most teams, not us:)

So to Chris the Organiser,

Well done from all the teams who played and from the Manchester Lions a promise we will be at every one next year.

Has to be said the lions were sportsmans, after flanking me i was in the middle of a gun battle with 1 of their team to feel 3 quick hits on the back (first of which was on the pack) as i stood up to call myself out i expected to be lit up..... but nope i walked off the field with my gun in the air and just the 3 original hits, i said to the player on the way up to the safe area, "it has to be said your team are not bonus ballers" to which i got the reply "na were far to tight to waste balls". Had me giggiling all day lol! The Russians tried there hardest considering they only played with 4 plus myself, it was really hard for both of us coz 1 of their players were playing then litrally straight back on the field to play another (i know it has got my legs killing me today!!). I was totally shocked when our team (all total n00bs) maxed out against them on speedball for the first game, second game they done much better and went to the count we only had 1 left on the field and them 3, but it was dark and nobody could see was a case of just shoot whatever bunker you can see really and shoot in the direction of where you hear a marker shooting.
