leeking bottle reg

hi all i filled my bottle last sunday just before leaveing the feild at the end of the day i went to check my kit the other day and noticed that it had dropped from 3000psi to around about 2000psi and then checked today again and its down to around about 1000psi anybody out there have any idea why this might be happening i cant hear any air escaping any help would be much apretiated trigg

dump it in a glass of water, and have a look.

Type of reg, type of bottle, dates etc.

Hint.....................

Just put the reg in the water, that way you don't need a massive glass.

cheers tom please forgive the spelling im a chef and am used to spelling it the other way will give that a go now didnt wont to try that incase i did any damage to it

well i have a few ideas:

1) its the fill valve: an o-ring might have broken and you might need a new valve
2) the pin on the top: get a spanner and press it in might work, works with my bro's bottle
and 3) if it is a 4500psi bottle the reg might not be screwed into the bottle properly and maybe leaking from there.

I'm pulling your leg mate, going with care bears post should be good spots to look for. The water trick always finds the leak.....................or leeks.

just checked it in some water it is coming from the thread of the fill nipple which has been filled/sealed with wot looks like ptfe paste

I had exactly the same problem with my evil bottle when i first got it mate, lost a ridiculous ammount of pressure and there were no apparent leaks, however i did notice the air that was in it after it had decreased lasted alot longer than that pressure does usually,

Now i have no problems with it, it just sorted itself out, maybe yours will do the same (providing you havent said you have found a leak with Toms method...i didnt read much of the thread )

EDIT: Ahh Bollocks
