probably not my place to say anything as i dont have 500+ posts but here goes anyways.
robbo is 100% right in the fact that u only improve with stiffer competition. granted.
but most of the guys have made the most valid point, concerning the financial aspect of bringing the seps across.
1 point though, it can be assumed that there is a process required for the americans to become so far superior to euro ballers? so rather than investing money in immediate direct competition e.g. bringing yanks across. but rather have the top cpl teams undergo the same or similar team structure as the american teams. meaning more training, more paint and more competition. some us teams have personal trainers now, why not over here?? this will also improve euroball.
i have read it on many sites and in pgi that many of he californian teams train together regularly. why cant euro teams do this?? europe is small and travel is cheap.
i should go......might be speakin out of turn:eek:

hit the nail on the head.

but if we want the yank team to come over the pond and most obviously do, we need to give them more of an incentive.

Two questions, one answer that for most of us would be an unequivocal yes.

But as people have posted the expense incurred in traveling over the pond may prove the deciding factor if it could happen.

We also have the option of increasing the prize fund and if we did that would help alleviate some of the costs providing they was good enough to win some.
If the other party who showed some interest in doing their own major series in Europe decided to actually do it, they would get them over, the Millennium series have to do what is best for European paintball and as posted that means getting the likes Dynasty and Ironmen and the Russians over to compete.

i play very much part time in any of the uk teams the odd game in nspl the odd game in the p.a. but i say going by past experience.

the old days was

(5years ago)there was 5-7 yank teams playing in millenium series events especially campaign as there was no roster locking and if they could raise the funds whether it be through sponsors or team players themselves they came that was that.

now with roster locking they dont have that choice as they came with the mentality that playing and winning would pay there flights etc if not they had a holiday in london and got to play ball over here.

i hope someone can see what i am saying i think the downscale of teams in milleniums numbers esp cc is also due to this as we lower teams dont get to play those big boys anymore which alot of us looked forward to and relished the idea of a bit of giant killing.

these are just my opinions and not those of any team i am associated with.

100%, so then we dont end up having something of a fake pro league over here so when teams go to america they then get smashed.

I think it was on the very rare occassion we saw 5-7 US teams in Europe.

Back in the day, Avalanche and the AAs were the only ones to commit to the entire season, later on it became Dynasty who committed to the series..... but other than that, it was really only Toulouse, and the occasional CC that attracted the stateside teams.

I think it will be extremely hard to get US teams to do more than 1 or 2 in a year, and that obviously means that they are not a factor in the Series rankings.... thereby negating their effectc to a great extent.

If a team has the MS as their primary league, it is ALL about the end season ranking.... and if US teams just show up here and there, they will not be a factor in that respect - unfortunately.
