I stand corrected :)

Do you feel the same is true in the NXL - which is more like CPL.... that the gap is wider than it was 3 years ago?

Nick
Nick learn from this, if you repeatedly rebut me just because it's me, then you will always end up looking silly.
Why the hell did it take Magued to come on here and tell you when I had already put enough information in front of you to have come to the same conclusion ?

Maybe because you are so often wrong ?

But seriously.... I still think your argument holds little water - 3 years ago, Magueds players struggled in the NPPL, and now they are winning, so the "we can't relax in a single game" thing was even truer back then.

Anyway - the reason I said "I stand corrected" - because now 2 independent sources has said the same thing, and knowing how you debate, it suddenly became pointless - so there.... enjoy :)

Regarding the NXL, I really dont know. But looking at Philly that havent done so great in NXL ( latest result was good ) make me belive that the gap have gone bigger. They are not a top team in NXL and they still beated us in Europe.
But if you think about it playing NXL for years would make most teams good.
And of course we struggled 3 years ago in NPPL, I just compared todays NPPL teams with todays CPL teams. We have lost 1 game to a European team over 1 1/2 season. (and they where 60 % us players.) But in NPPL we have a win ratio of maybe 60-70 %

I know dude :)

What I was getting at was, that if you compare say Dynasty of 3 years ago, with a European pro team of 3 years ago, the european team will have improved at a much higher percentage rate, because the starting point was so much lower :)

Anyway - it's really a moot point, because there is no way the MS is going to remove the divisions locks for next year... there would be an uproar... and even if they did, no US teams would be able to play.

Good point about RL though... they don't live that far away, and we miss them at the Euro events!

Phew disagreements ended finally :)

Im still waiting to hear how Robbo thinks we should move forward to compete with the US. :)

I know how to beat them and maybe I could even put the resources together to do so but I haven't got the inclination anymore after what happened with Nexus toward the end.

It's not rocket science in putting that package together, it requires someone who knows what they are doing at the very top end of our sport, somebody who can command sufficient resources to enable weekly team practice (minimum), individuals though would need to practice drills at home during the week, and basically that's it.

FFS I put together a team of predominantly ams and novices in 2003 and got to 7th ranked in the world in that first year, the only thing that prevented us from improving on that was the mentality of some of the squad players who believed their own hype and stopped listening.
But maybe that was my failing as well by not weeding them out earlier, who knows?

But all this talk is somewhat academic because there are soo many obstacles in doing it now, and anyway, the UK does not play host to anybody now who possesses the connections and expertise, so maybe all this talk is just that, talk.

Nick, neither of us could draw upon any data that was derived from the top teams in the US playing against the teams in Europe and therefore we had to call upon other, more indirect sources such as I mentioned with the relative playing environments each continent had enjoyed these last two years.

You haven't even been to the States for a long time ( and you knew I had been there last year and this) and yet you still told me I was wrong ...... that's not just ignorance Nick, that's arrogance as well.

99.99% of ballers would have been convinced after what was said in that post where I explained relative environments...... excepting you of course.
I wonder if say, Freddie Halmone had said exactly what i did, you would have taken the same line of rebuttal?
I doubt it very much and I think if you are honest with yourself, you would agree with me ...... but then again, maybe you wouldn't.
