Mooching round the 50, with the flag
My larger upper arm took about 90 mins - 2 hours, it was a quite a warm day and I must admit I felt quite sick after about an hour of sitting still and he still had a fair amount to do, the feeling passed after about 15 mins but it wasn't pleasant. Half an hour after getting it done I was in the pub having a couple of pints and leaking onto their patio.

Yeah....i'm with ya on that one, just not the start of any tattoo session....Once things start rumbling along its kinda nice in a wierd way:eek:
Gotta admit though, I WLL NEVER have another three hour session again....way to long. Its one thing getting a needle dragged through your skin, another when the same area is covered two/three times over in the same sesh!
Takes pain to a new level when the needle starts churning up bits of skin around areas that have already been inked:D

totally agree , due to the amount of black to go on my back we discussed doing one long session 4 hours + unfortunately i was bleeding like a stuck pig and my skin couldn't take it so we only did 2 hrs and another 2 hrs for the other half ,some can do it it seems (those nutters that have back peices done in 12-24hr sessions) but not me..

yeah, my tattoo guy was telling me how he inked a H/A member (hells angels) over a bag of peruvian and a bottle of jack daniels one new years eve. They did twelve hours straight:eek::eek:
I saw the pics aswell, the guy had BA$TARD tattoed across his belly in massive black letters, must have hurt like hell 'n' I bet his momma weren't best pleased:) (sweet tat though!)

If you want a tatt then you should be aware of the following :-

Make damned sure it ain't gonna be something that is likely to change, such as, girlfriend's name, paintball team, soccer club etc etc etc

Far too many idiots (me included) get carried away with whatever they are doing at the time and wanna represent their seriousness / loyalty by having a tatt only to have circumstances change somewhere down the line that ends up making you look silly.......

Any design you have is always gonna be prone to fashion, fads like tribal and Celtic will sooner or later be replaced, so you must bear this in mind also.

Do NOT have a tatt for the SAKE of having one because this inevitably means you will end up choosing one that isn't EXACTLY what you want because you have it done to service the need for having one done as against having it because you really want that design.

Tatts have evolved since I had my first one done (over 30 years ago) from a social statement into a fashion statement and so you should also bear that in mind because these are on ya for life.

And, don't just go in any tattooist, there are some guys out there who couldn't draw a pension let alone put a design on your body and so you must choose a tattooist that has been recommended to you and you have seen his work on someone as against just seeing what designs they have on their wall.

And my last piece of advice is, if you are not sure about having one, then DON'T because this lack of convictoin is invariably because you only want one for the sake of wanting one and you will inevitably regret it later.
Good luck !

Bah. My chest piece took a 4 hour sitting to do. Sternum work is pretty painful, I struggled at times, but sucked it up and took it like a man.

However, my mate quite regularly goes in for 7hour sessions. He has 2 mint sleeves....

Saying that tho, I go into shock and pass out every time I get cartilage pierced....
