The fact that the item was expected to be delivered and then reverted back to being sorted would indicate that someone could not be arsed to do it at the end of the round.
Wouldn't have thought so probably dispatched to the wrong Delivery office, trust me if you sign for it to take out on delivery then you would attempt a delivery.

I do work for Royal Mail
Hey Kitch, I've been waiting for ages on some shizzle from ebay which hasn't shown up yet, I'm guessing it's because of these strikes. I'm sure they're probably knocking about there somewhere, sort it out would ya? Getting kind of impatient now  ;)

I am 99.99% sure that when sending recorded delievery if they do not get it to you by 1pm the next day (as long as you havent missed it etc) then you can claim the costs back off them... just give it a sdouble check tho..

But i must say i never had a problem with them they been brilliant and alwasyg ot my stuff to me, just lost one package that i sent to frnce to thats life and was nothing missed...

Btw has anyone heard of the safeplace thing you can set up to stop them taking it back to sorting office?

You can set that up with your delivery office for a safe place drop or a neighbour but that is at your risk as far as I am aware

Phone up your local delivery office, should be in the phone book or ask you postman for it.

Nah work for another delivery office, if you have an agreement in place with you local delivery office then all is good, but your postman shouldn't just sling it in there
