Depends where you buy your pack, some come with pods and some don't. Also, it's worthwhile to have spares as they get lost and damaged easily.Wouldn't a battle pack come with some pods ? Or do I need to buy those separate ?

Neck protector, while those Buffs are good ( I use a Spec-ops brand woodland one) a neoprene neck protector like this is wrthwhile .
