where does the ref get off pulling ridiculous sh!t like that? a 4 4 1is reserved for extreme wiping, continued play, using illegal markers i believe and stuff like that, so wtf is he doing pulling that sort of penalty over leaving behind a barrel sock????

But we kept are heads up and had like 4-5 more games on that feild over the next 2 days, but luckily managed to get the other end!!! and won everyone lol.... :D

I didn't see him pulling any armbands there. does the Millenium still use armbands?

The reason I ask is that we had a game in Tampa where an entire team forgot to put their armbands on. I went to check the snake player on his run, noticed he wasn't wearing his armband, then as I checked the other players they weren't wearing them either. I ended up having to pull the entire team.

After the game they were (understandably) unhappy and confused about why they were all pulled. I had to explain to them that none of them were wearing bands so they were technically eliminated. Now I understand that it sucks to lose a game in that way. But when the ref says those are your armbands (points to bands hanging on the start box) and to put the armband on your left arm, wouldn't you ask a question if you weren't clear? At the end of the game, the armbands were still hanging on the start station.

Anyway - the point of the story is that it's often worth asking the ref why he made a call you don't understand. There might be a rational explanation for it.

or the ref might just be a c*** :p

Millennium dont use Armbands mate... Ergo, Ref is a c-unit.

This is all very funny, and believe me I hate french refs as much as anyone but....... The rules state that you have to keep your sock with you, and they didn't. Frank spoke to me just after the game and said 4 or 5 of them had left their barrel socks on the gate, therefore the ref aint 1-4-1'ing, he's just tking out the players who left socks, and then a couple of 1-4-1's for argueing maybe?. I admit it sucks, and I'll always support the kidz, but on this occasion they were dealt with to the letter of the law, lesson learnt though I think ;)

Funny how half a story can make it seem so different :)

Sounds like the ref's weren't in the wrong then.

Edit:

watching the video again, right at the start you see several of the kids throw the barrel socks on the floor, so sounds like this is right...

Ok to verify...it was either 2 or three of us that had barrel socks down...fair enough if they pulled 3 of us...but id like to add why pull 6 none of the other three had shots on them...maybe a 1-4-1 because cookie argued briefly but that isnt a 6-4-1....and if it was pulling individual socks, why does he pull 4 bodies with the "1-4-1" sign....im jumping to conclusions but i think its because he saw something he could wipe us out with, just like in Toulouse...one player aint touching the back bunker, he pulls 6 out for same call.

Whatever, we came second and he probably will never do that.

Has anyone asked, why is this rule in place. Isn't it a little petty to remove someone from a game just because his barrel sock is at the start gate rather than his pocket. As long as the marker is made safe before leaving the field, why is there a need for the barrel sock to enjoy the game in person.;)
