PMR or 05 Ego

Do you prefer open bolt or closed bolt markers?

At the end of the day its which marker you prefer, fire the ego and see if you like it compared to your PMR ;)
I think what he means is that the bolt on the PMR is enclosed so no dirt can get on it. Unlike the Ego one where you can see it moving.

On another note, the 05 Ego seems alot more appealing than the PMR, many because of the ease of maintence(SP?) and the good service Eclipse have.

Yeah I thought open bolt means that you can actually see the bolt moving such as on the Ego's  My bad

Personally i'd take the Ego but it is totally down to what you prefer ;)

a PMR and Ego aren't really a fair match, a shocker or a 05 ego would be more fair.

Love the way ego's look, but really hate the way they shoot. but shockers shoot better than any markers out there (personal opinion).

if you can try shooting both before you buy, you will notice a major difference in how they shoot.

also, could people please expand on the closed bolt thing? (genuine question) as i thought one was closed bolt, and the other was open (it is this something to do with the spool or popet valves?)

cockers are closed bolt because when resting the bolt is closed, it opens the breach when it fires.

egos, shockers, dms etc are open bolt as resting the breach is open, and the blot closes the breach when the firing cycle goes ahead.

something like that

that clears things up.. but the effect of the bolt being "open" and a bolt being "inclosed" effect's the way the ball is fired, and some how the flight of the ball, or is it purely due to the bolt design?
