I believe they have no specific rules as to brands you can use, but any paint used must be able to pass a reasonable drop test without being too hard. I've tried drop testing Spec Ops and it's a good way to get half an hour's exercise, so it wouldn't do.
That said I did also hear a lot of 'paint too hard' whinging at the last Masters from several teams/players about their and our paint and I was shooting fresh Proto that broke on first or second bounce, so........

Personaly IMO. What teams want to shoot spec op's paint at a torni or even a training session?
If the paint isnt breaking, how you going to win anything?

Yeah,.. who would want too use it if they bounce ?? Good for woodsball but still too hard in my opinion and as i can see in most peoples opinion.
Yeah i seriously don't think it would break a lense, v-froce test the grill lense by firing small caliber shotgun shells at it. The lense is also a couple of cm thick
But saying that i got shot by spec ops in the ear and couldn't hear for a couple of seconds too, also knocks your head back further than other balls. But i don't see a problem with it aslong as the user has their marker chronoed below 280fps.

Yes but people use it because it's a hard ball so absolutely no breaks, also good for people who have hoppers and guns that smash an weaken the paintball.
We had proto paint (in feb so was ok conditions, not too cold) and it was breaking in my ego and my bro's dm6. That's been true until just lately- they had a couple of batches that had to be Flametech'd etc or they just fell apart. The latest lot to come in are much better balls and I shot 3000 through a Viking at the last Masters without a break, despite the drop test results as above.
