A Kent team called Split Personalities - shortened to Split P's by marshals and other teams on the circuit at the time. Played in the Home counties 7 man league Div 2 for a couple of years in the 90's. Never quite managed to step up to Div 1 - but it wasn't for lack of trying.Which team, out of sheer curiosity???
Hey Lucky, great to hear you're still around. Your leg still get detached at awkard moments, like just when you want to push up the field?A Kent team called Split Personalities - shortened to Split P's by marshals and other teams on the circuit at the time. Prior to that we did a lot of 7 & 10 man tournaments, mostly using pumps until the semis like Mags & cockers appeared on the scene. The team started out using Splatmasters, and 12gram powered pumps - but that was before I joined up.
Never picked much sponsorship and struggled to a full squad in the end due to lack of cash. We were chuffed to pick up "most sporting team" award one season, and took pride in our "cheat free" reputation. Ultimately the win at all costs attitude of others turned us off the tourny scene, and we just play for the crack now.
You just described the ex SP's squad - playing under the unofficial banner of "team zimmer frame" these days At least I've got an excuse... apart from being an old duffer?I'm not disabled, I'm just lazy
I actually fall into the grey area of disabled enough to be knackered but not enough to get badges or benefits
Ahh... the Nelspot 2 (pause to grab rose tinted specs) also my own first gun. Complete with home made stock, 12gram quick change and silencer. Followed by the Jackal pump, WGP sniper, Autococker and AutoMag. Still got the Automag (now an Xmag), 2 cockers, 2 pumps and recently gone all techno with an 05 EgoI started with a Nelspot 2 pump, then bought an SL68 and then went on to cockers, and am now a total gun whore with an emphasis on quality old school kit like AKA, vintage Matrixes and pumps
LMFAO"What's up with Lucky?"
"Err he said he's putting his leg back on"
(bit of a pause)
"What?.. you are joking?"
"No.. he really is putting his leg back on"
The rest (as they say) is history - about 20 years worth actually
Didn't a guy called "Monty" play for you guys...lived in Strood I think?A Kent team called Split Personalities - shortened to Split P's by marshals and other teams on the circuit at the time.
