I'm not disabled, I'm just lazy
I actually fall into the grey area of disabled enough to be knackered but not enough to get badges or benefits
Short version is I had a tumour removed from my lower back when I was 11. Due to less advanced imaging techniques in those days it was a while being diagnosed and by the time they operated it had advanced to the point where they had to take a few nerves as well. I was paralysed from the waist down after the op but in time enough nerves regenerated that I was left with no movement below the knee in both legs. Take the nerves away from a joint and it causes problems so I now have arthritis in both ankles, but with plenty of support from both velcro and teammates (they let me play back middle) I manage to waddle up the field on occasion
As for playing, I started buying PGI in 1989 but had to wait until 1990 before I was old enough to play at my local site, then have played ever since at the walk-on, big game and regional competition level ever since, writing for PGI over the last few years and lately playing the UKM with Kitsune. I'm very much a Sunday baller, just a hell of a lot of Sundays and I still play for fun so try and hover around a level where fun is still to be had.
I started with a Nelspot 2 pump, then bought an SL68 and then went on to cockers, and am now a total gun whore with an emphasis on quality old school kit like AKA, vintage Matrixes and pumps.
