Mikey just drop it!

There are definitely some advantages to reffing an event. As it can guarantee you an event win in terms of points.

Not saying there are disadvantages too, but there are certainly advantages!

Well everything has advantages and disadvantages john thats pretty obvious

But if you look at it like liz's post then it is a disadvantage to play every event.

oh and no i wont drop it!

What is the problem?

If there wasn´t any "carrot" for doing a weekend of reffing, then noone would do it - and hell those reffing the event do a ****ty job... In my mind actually a lot harder than playing the actual event! Honestly - what would any of you choose if you had a free choice: Reffing or playing?? Don´t think we need any answers to that really!

Yes sometimes you see teams not that high in the rankings reffing an event, but I still fail to see when it has actually helped anyone being promoted? But maybe I just missed that.... You STILL need to do good all year, in order to be on top!

The day the millennium can afford paying for the reffing instead of giving them reffing points, I think a lot LESS teams will choose to reff - and instead have a "pro reff squad" getting in the game! After all - why would they?

Mikey why are you so bothered?

Me and lil ste have agreed with your point about it being more satisfying to play all 5 and get the end rewards as we (kellys) did, but we also made the point that if we had missed out on a top two spot we would have been kicking ourselves.

At the moment i cant see a better solution as the milleniums need refs and this is a good way to get them, if they were to pay more to refs to get more refs who do you think will be footing that bill thats right the players!

So rather than bitching about teams reffing for points why dont you think im glad that these teams fly half way across europe to ref or i wouldnt have a tournament to play in?

I can see your point with regards to the kellys and it must of been hugely satisfying to do it without getting points from reffing.

I also see your point about the mills not having any other option at the moment but what would happen if the players just wanted to play and not ref, would that not force the mills to do something about it.

But i suppose it comes back to the players actually doing something

Mikey, its been explained for all to see why its a good idea to ref. There's no shame in doing it and someone has to do it.

drop it.
