UK Teams and NPPL...

I was surpirsed that the standard wasn't higher tbh, I was expecting to be absolutely raped in every game, we had far from our strongest squad out and we were only properly beaten in 2 games, the rest were either poor marshall descisions or schoolboy errors that we shouldn't have made.
Given the same group of games I'm happy that if the Redemption squad had made the trip we'd have at least made sunday.

Div 1 and 2 however I think any UK team would really struggle....

All in all an awesome time though, I want to live there

Well as cookie said earlier... every game we lost we took them down to either 1 or 2 players... but the reffing is VERY inconsistent! for example we were sat in the stands on sunday, One teams gets a 1 4 1, fair play ye... but then when the next team does EXACTLY the same thing... (Shot off the break and plays on, not knowing he was hit) no 1 4 1?!

As for all the div stuff... we trained with higher div teams. (2 and 1) An we smashed them and they smashed us... fair and square. Theres not that much difference in level, (But obviosuly if you compare div1 teams in the uk, like in the masters and PA, theres a slight difference there so what would you class as div 1 in the uk?) but they do just play the game ALOT differently... less aggresive. They sit and wait...

But overall the best balling trip of my life... big respect to the fello brits who went.

heres my' 2 cents':

bad points:


1 - the reffing was inconsistent - fact. im not going to quote the bollox, just say that as first statement. like many have said thought who gives a **** about div3, so its no suprise the reffing wasnt on the ball all the time.

2 - lack of knowledge of the us "game" - we lost our first 2 games because we werent set up to play that style. we played far too conservatively. i dont think we got raped in any game, we were never 7 - 0 bodies at all. just had to rethink our plans after a rude wake up.

3 - the air fills were a bit worrying - think we had three tanks **** up due to the immensely fast fill speed. seemed a bit dodgy to me...

4 - commentators being a bit gay towards non-US teams. doesnt exactly encourage more people to make the trip when you are publicly belittled.


good points


1 - overall it was a fantastic event
thats how pb should be played - great fields, great surface, great organisation...
the sun tits and sand was a bonus.

2 - paint was cheap - $35 for Hellfire $30 for inferno
no breaks all weekend.

3 - the teams we played were all really cool and friendly. good event atmosphere in general.

Thanks for the insight there will, yes we did...after a weekend on the piss with the charms.... we also came first at the last nspl...thanks for keeping up with our progress, it's good to know we have fans already

but yeah, partying all weekend whilst trying to be competitive doesn't work that well... When we actually put our minds to it, we're not so bad though *nspl*

I think some of your problems that have been raised is because the Yanks have a compleatly different attitude to the events compared to europe

for instance no yank team goes on to the field till there ready if if the field has to wate then they have to wate if there on there last call and they have only just got back like Baca said call dave

Reffing if its the same group if guys as last year then i cant see them trying to screw teams just because they are brits i know they like use iv been out drinking with afew and there a great bunch of guys there are always new refs who need more experiance and it is only the first event of the year the less experianced ones are a bit rusty

People get bad calls all the time i doubt its because it was brit teams.

P.S. the yank teams are also better at playing the refs, brits in the most play to fair
