Just back from HB and to be honest the results by no way reflect the UK teams performances, not making excuses as you know it's not my style BUT the UK teams DID compete, they never got smashed off the park. Think about it this way, we had the ball$ to go across there, spend a fortune and actually competed against these guys. Now, I accept looking at the scoreboard you would think oh my god Clan got smashed!! I understand that, but here we have the same old same old, dissin teams for trying when you don't have all the facts.
Clan Game 1 - we win
Clan Game 2 - we take all the key bunkers and lose out but only just.
Clan game 3 - Flash shoots the guy from the zipper, he then plays on, the ref pulls him AFTER flash has been shot out, playing on is a 1-4-1, after the game I speak to the head Ref, his words"yeah we seen him hit, but we pulled him, it wasn't till after the game we realised we were supposed to actually 1-4-1 him, sorry thats our fault but hey what can you do" If they had done their job then we would have had 2 players live and they would have had a 1-4-1 so last two players would have been gone.
Clan game 4 - we win
Clan game 5 - We are on the Bawls field waiting to play game 4 and they are shouting us to the JT(see game 3!!!) so after the game we come off, run around like idiots and go to JT field a player down, we are standing waiting for the last player and the head ref shouts 10 seconds!!! we are all confused and break out...we lose, well lost badly, BUT after the game I have it out with Dave the NPPL ultimate as they were only cleaning fields and could have waited, but choose not to, his words, "Sorry about that, I see your point but hey, nothing we can do now!!"
3 games on Sunday we were not the same team, dunno, call it starting your first game at 4:30PM!!!! Too much hanging around and you know yourselves it takes the spark out.
So, Yes on the scoreboard we won 2 from 8, but we competed and to be honest 6 wins to go to Sunday Club can be done by a UK team!!!
So for all those people thinkin US D3 is so much better it's actually not, we as a Nation can compete across the pond but unless someone is willing to actually provide a team with finincial backing to get them there for the season then it's not going to happen. I for one would gladly play all NPPL events...but...I can't!!
Anyone else commenting on scoreboards I suggest you either put up or shut up.
