thanks for the useful advice, esp Tom, as always

just wondering as my bottle was used for the masters ,fine, then when i was out a work in the week or something it (1800) must have blown, cos i didnt hear it and my bottle was empty when i got home and looked at it.
You can get tiny in-audible leaks, my bottle emptys over a few weeks aswell from 4000 psi.

didnt say you was my friend but you dont know what burst disks are and what there for so i was just putting forward a possibility. :D

im aware that regulators have "burst discs" on, and its implicit in their name that they are to burst when a pressure is reached. i wanted to know what this was, exactly why it would happen and from those answers find out whether i needed to service my reg or not.

albeit i did drop in a subtle "diss" into my post, I added a ":p " to show I was messing around.

as it stands, your post was pretty irrelevent anyway seeing as I hadnt replaced a burst disc then found my tank empty - ergo implying i hadn't inadvertently fitted any such replacement disc incorrectly.

they can burst for a number of reasons. filling too fast being one of them. if the 1.8K often blows that indicates a faulty reg (which can blow your marker/marco lines), which is not something you should even think about stripping down unless you have had adequate training with, so take it to someone who does know what there doin. the bottle is a potential bomb so dont **** with it
