The problem is Russ that when you keep telling these guys they are the best then they become arrogant
An I think when you say the majority of the people complained about field 1 is a bit far from the truth an you know it..... Like Russ said all good refs will always get a lot of complaints about them as they know what there talking about not like about 80% of paintballers who have never even picked a set of rules up let alone read them, what does that tell you as a ref....
I rest my case.

I just love coming on here looking at comments about refs an how crap they are. I aint sayin all refs are good because they arnt by a long long way, But for me my friend your statement about not reffing a single tournament for me says it all. An when things are aimed at the Uk Refs then I'll come on here an respond an it aint something I do as you can tell by my post count. Any how have a go at reffing I'm sure it will improve your game for sure.

Oh by the way Mars Bar is a Uk Ref.:D

Me not reffing a single tournament has no reflection on my judgement on a good ref or not, it should only tell you that i have no interest in it.

I wish it was far from the truth but out of all the people i talked to which is quite a lot field 1 came up first and foremost.

The better the marshall the more compliants they recieve, cant see that myself, only way that could be true is by players not knowing the rules as you said, good job i aint one of them huh ;)

Well if mars bar is a UK ref thers hope for you lot yet

The problem is Russ that when you keep telling these guys they are the best then they become arrogant and miss things, I had an incident on field 2, left one on one, hit the guy in the hopper, called a check and the marshall didn't go in ( he was stood behind the player so couldn't see the front of his hopper). I got shot (fair play to the other guy) and he then hangs the flag with a big blue hit on his hopper, not a trace of blue paint anywhere near his bunker, but the attitude of the marshall was that because he didn't see it hit then it couldn't have been a hit because he's a superstar fcukin marshall, had he been in the right place then he would have seen it hit.

And yes reffing is hard, but the minute you become complacent at anything you get bad, so if they are the best as you say, how can you quantify that?. I always enjoy playing on Mars Bars fields, he's fair, he's fcuking good, and he hasn't got a trace of ego about him, thats how refs should be.
Just love a paintball story....... I forgot all players are honest or is that just me.....:D

Jeeeeeeeez you guys crack me up

After being involved in paintball on many levels for the last eleven years some things never change. The old ref debate rages on and always will but in a nut shell ref's are human thus making them libale to the odd mistake,Players whinge thus making them the worst people ever its a two sided coin,And no matter which side the coin lands on someone is going to be upset.I know sometimes a ref gets it all wrong,And sometimes players are not honest but paintball will always be this way guys!!!!!!!!!

Last month a ref on field 1 (dont know if he was a UK Ref or not) told us that when we called for a paint check we could keep playing/shooting until the ref called us clean/out and that at the start gate our guns had to be horizontal or below. So it's not just players that dont read the rules :p

But in that incident we just had a word with Wendy after the game and she sorted it and didnt have any other problems on field 1 after that, I find the reffing spot on at the masters 99% of the time and always have a great time at the masters :D
