just been reading a thread : re a missing marker, and im thinking when are tourny organisers, going to take security of players posession's serious at events.
i appreciate that players need to take a proactive stance on this as well.
i know this topic has been covered a lot, but nothing ever seems to get done, is now the time to do something.
we are giving criminals an easy target.

paintball is a growing community and like any community crimanls will be a part of it, so lets stop the ba**ards now and get something sorted.
if we keep taking the attitude that it will never happen to me and its someone else's kit , we are never going to stop it.

good idea but the security at NPPL's is tight and stuff still gets nabbed the main problem is that the only people who want to steal a marker are in general paintballers !!!

I DONT KNOW
HOW WOULD THIS WORK THEN?

A PLAYER WALKS OUT OF THE TENT WITH A MARKER HOW WILL THE SECURITY GUARD KNOW IF ITS HIS MARKER OR NOT???

THE BEST WAY TO STOP PEOPLE NICKING STUFF IS TO KEEP IT WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES OR KEEP IT LOCKED UP IN YOUR CAR

DON'T GIVE THEM THE OPPORTUNITY TO NICK IT...YOU WOULDN'T LEAVE A GRAND IN CASH ON THE TABLE WOULD YOU

And for the very last time (all together now)...

IT'S YOUR STUFF - LOOK AFTER IT - OR SOMEONE ELSE WILL!!!

I totally agreed with Mad-Mart and Raffles, like Mart says you would leave a wad of cash laying around in a crowded marquee and expect to still find it there when you come back 30-40-50 mins later.
And I dont see how some 'no-necked knuckle-draggin' security guard could stop these thefts. Lets face it how would 'Mr Doorman' know if I was walking out of the tent with MY 'black' marker or some-one elses 'red' marker??

Please don't take this post as condoning these thefts - I think the thievin' sihts need to have their skin pealed and rolled in salt
BUT I also realise we are not livin in paintball eutopia - where we all skip merrily along, holding each others hand singin tra la la la la. (altho' I think I saw Eastie & Portox doing that on Sunday;) :D ;) )

The first line of security should be to look after it yourself, why should the organisers be responsable for OUR equipment?? Dont you think they have enough to contend with, making the UKM the event we all look forward to?

Like I said in Lumps thread, if you have borrowed a marker and need to give it back but have to shoot off someone (no pun intended). Take the damn thing with you, at very least the owner knows you have it and can organise posting or pickup at the next event.

Maybe the event organisers can provide a lockup service for markers which are not in use for this reason?
