Being a youth worker and having to write funding bids which include activities such as paintball I'd have to say yes.

Skills
- Team work: working with people for mutal benefit
- Communication: getting across what you need to, both on an off
- Respecting authority
- Self esteem: seeing your time/effort pay off and skills rise
- 'Stickability': Staying committed rather than jumping from hobby to hobby.

So yes, all are transferable life skills.

Team work, communication, being able to quickly think about situations and make a decision.

I gess that because a higher level of play needs a higher standard of player, yes these 'skills' would be better. But simple playing in a team sport/game would help as well as how much experience you have no matter what level.

It taught me that it's better to look good than play good :p. It's also informed me just how un-fit I am. Oh, and it's nearly crippled me - both on a financial and medical front!

Paintball is a daft hobby!
