I think it best if we realise this kid is but 11 years old, I think he should be having some fun here guys.
Let him develop a love for the sport that will enable him at a later age to embark upon an improvement curve but some of this advice being wielded around will burn him out inside six months.
When you see him playing with a smile on his face, you have done the best job possible as his father.

And that is the single most important thing ever written on these forums!

I may just have to go Platinum - just so I can put that in my sig!

6th post down.

Just make sure you maintain the "fun" element...it's a balance, especially with kids....they need to be enjoying it..sure, there will be stressful times, serious times and hard work, but as long as he is enjoying it and still thinks it's fun....he will thrive on the attention.

I would suggest "hiring" someone who knows what he or she is talking about, as well....
While talking about "hiring"...I'm trying to convince the team, that we need to meet up with you at some point, as previously discussed:)

Sorry Skeet, didn't read your post but I think in this case I hope I am forgiven because it's a point worth repeating especially since a couple of the posters seem to have lost the plot by seemingly planning the kid's life out ahead of him.

One post in particular had me running for the vomit bin :)

Laters Skeet, say 'hi' to 'er indoors for me, you know she loves me :)
