you could all ways try tipping it upside down when turning it on if its got paint in it to see if thats helps?
your not over filling it are you? needs space to turn to get balls into feed neck.
the best thing you can do is strip it down and clean everything out, the Eyes are in the feed neck, wrapped in tape normally.. try taking them out and making sure theres nothing in the holes and wipe the eyes off.
make sure all the connections are sound and when you put it back together that no wires are trapped. (been sed b4 i know)
make sure the batteries are ok and you are using the standard 6 AA pack arent you??
it may even be you have a "dry solder joint some where on the board (does it turn on if you tap it??)
sounds like you got a short some where thats draining the batts or something is putting way to much load on the motor and thats whats eating the batteries. has it got rip drive does it turn free? may be a idea to strip clean and check everything is in good order.my halo seems to be of the african variety, it don't like cold weather. play on a hot day it loves a little action take it out on a typical english summer day(f**king cold) it plays one game cains the batteries, replace with good batts dies with 40 balls replace and the same, the wiorst thing is i'm not using crap £1 for 9000 batteries i'm using duracell extra and +.
