you've just confirmed what i was thinking i'll get the board out and get it checked by someone who knows what they are doing.if it does it in cold weather could be a board problem, in the cold things shrink so a component on the board mite not be making proper contact but when it warms up say in the house it goes back to normal.
just a thought may be a idea to checjk out the board for bad contacts, poor soldering.
