QUOTE 'EX Mayhem is our ingenious, new, off-the-wall biz setting the UK Paintball industry on fire!! Through an aspiration to help take the sport to the success seen in the USA - where Paintball is the 3rd largest action sport, our aim is to utilise the strength of our brand and mass-media exposure to support and expand the Paintball industry from both a commercial perspective and as a spectator sport. So we’ve launched Extrememayhem.co.uk, offering premium paintball sites the opportunity to re brand and use the Extreme brand to help drive their business forward and an informative website designed to help you book a skirmish online and provide a conduit for all things Paintball in the UK. I ill say what i think but it might not be right but it is what i think.

I think paintball is to fragmented at the moment we need one league and that's it then maybe feeder leagues and so on.....

We have the same problem with the sports council with why they will not look at us as a sport because of how all over the place it is.

We need to have a referee board were there the only ones that can Marshall i mean how can we take this seriously when some tin pot team is marshaling and maybe makes a call for the team they like or know i think from that angle it is a joke we need some sort of rules codes of practice for us all.

We all need to be under one banner then we can promote our selves to the world to me for people looking in at us they just think we are weekend warriors who get camoed up and its not organised.

If we could get some sort of sports council ( yes i know about bully and i and the nq support him in what ever he does) but to have them as say like football has the FA then the media might take us seriously ???????

Markie, your idea is a good one - and one we have all strived for. Trouble is, everyone has strived in a different direction.

While you have the likes of the PA, UKM, D7's, SWPL etc all using a different rule book - then it'll never happen - simply because they all think their way is best.

"To ramp/not ramp - limited paint/non-limited paint...." are just part of the problem.

A 'board' made up of representatives from each organisation is one way forward - but you'll always have breakaway leagues/tournaments.

With all the 'behind the scenes' back-stabbing and politics going on - any kind of unification is still a dream.

Nah, the TV people don't even know about the fragmented nature of the game. They care so very little that they don't even come to the point where they would find out about it.

Oh god, not that BS statistic again...

Look, anybody that attaches any value to that statistic is severely kidding themselves. Paintball ain't that big, not here, not in the US, not in some weird, alternative universe.
The only reason they claim paintball to be that big, is because they include all the people that go for a rental day...

When will we stop kidding ourselves?

I'm afraid some of you are way off the mark if the real context of this thread is to be upheld.
Apart from now believing that me and Budhha must have been separated at birth by probably having exactly the same take on things in almost every department, I had better explain what I mean.

Whatever exposure we have had on TV here in the UK, or even Europe, this is not gonna become the main dynamic, never will be I'm afraid.
Our domestic productions have been under-financed, under-resourced and underwhelming.
Whether we like it or not, whether we believe it or not, the US is where it's at when it comes to setting the directions we ultimately take.
The reasons for this are simple, the industry is there; the trickle down effect of that permeates tournaments, sponsorships, leagues, rules and every other aspect you could think of.
And so, this discussion needs to refocus itself westwards because this is where any meaningful TV dynamic is gonna happen.
And if it does happen over there, then and only then can we hope for us in the UK to jump on any media bandwagon.
As for unifying any leagues over here and this predisposing us to a greater chance of TV success, sorry, this ain't gonna make a blind bit of difference and is the same as rearranging the deck-chairs on the Titanic.
