Dare I say it that the PA should be the ones to push this forward, if the water has not been too tainted by pollitics already, but as Andy Hatton has said he is standing down as chairman and the new one will be appointed through an open vote, maybe now is the time to move forward with no adgenda.

I dare say that if the appointee is not already big in the industry then he will be ignored and thus defeating the point of a non-partisan leader.

I have long felt that there should be a single governing body, a single unified league that should be build in regional cells and that the "Premiership" should be qualified for and travel the country. Again we have the issue of having to commit to the season but there is nothing stopping the existing private ventures continuing.

Won't happen... How about Robbo for chairman, from vocal critic to captain of the ship... I know your attitude has changed over time but just completing the full circle of life :)
Thanks for the vote of confidence Daz but I'm afraid this ain't really up my street, I much prefer working in the background and I don't relish the prospect of having to deal with idiots and backstabbers any more.
I have had my fill of those recently thanks.

But if you think about it, who the hell would pay such a person?

The industry ?
Yeah right, what the hell are they gonna get from it?
And before people start replying, mid to long term investments blah, blah, frikkin blah, excuse me while I dislocate my pelvis as I laugh.

The site owners?
Oh Puuuurrrrlleeeeease, our average site owner can't see further than the length of his grubby little pocket.

What about the teams and players, would they invest in all this, after all they would benefit surely?

Ermmmmm, you can bet your bottom dollar no such monies would be coming from the player base, ballers moan every time they have to pay an extra tenth of a penny a ball to play.

Once again we crash headlong into a wall of idiffernce and intransigence with commonsense and mid term investment being ignored in favour of short term self-interest.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Paintball Daz :)

I did not think that you would want that particular poison chalise :D but I hope that whoever does has a smother ride than Hatts.

When I said, "I have long felt", I did not imply that I thought for one second that it would happen but was rather imparting my vision of a Utopian future for paintball.

We can but dream!

The problems Hatts encountered weren't so much anything to do with his goals but the way he went about them.
I'm afraid you need to cultivate friends with such an enterprise and not seemingly set yourself up as a one stop shop for the salvation of Brit Paintball.

You can most certainly gain some support from a small section of the player base (which he did, but these tended to be the ones who wanted to appear on TV) but any such venture needs top end support from the industry and with no disrespect intended, he didn't really negotiate this side of the venture very well.

Hatts meant well, I don't doubt that for one second and he has to be commended for the time and effort he put into it all but the world is littered with good intentions .. in some senses, it's all about politics .. and if you can't get along with people, especially those people who really matter in this industry, then any such quest is doomed.
