its was a rant but a good one. ever since the world rally championship had been on tv popularity has increased by miles marshalling on stages over the years you can see the massive increase in spectators ever since it was televised majorly on itv. i know its not quite the same as paintballing and its easier to understand but yeeah.

and also if you get the right angles and its a fast paced game and full of action and dives it can be exciting to watch.

Does anyone on here really believe that football would be as big as it is today if it didn't have constant media coverage?

I mean, they stop play everytime a fully grown man slips over on a patch of grass. Something that seems to happen everytime an opposing player comes near the one with the ball. Most of the top players are too worried about their sunglasses deals and hairstyles to actually play ther game properly. if they wake up after a bad nights sleep they take the next month off...

Does this sound like an exciting game to televise?

Then the fans talk about their team playing well, or worse saying things like 'we played well' after doing squat to help either team on the field (sitting in a packed pub swilling beer does nothing for 'your team'). These are guys who probably put more money into tescos ever year than mancherster united(or whoever they support) yet never one say 'we did really well again' when tescos announce record end of year profits.

Lets be happy to hold paintball for the players. The masses are too controlled by the media to accept something that doesn't fill the back six pages of a tabloid.

(i'm sure there is a point to this somewhere, but i admit i'm kinda just ranting...)
You got your facts the wrong way round.
Football gets the coverage it gets, because it is big. It was big way before the TV came along.
And boring though I find the game to be, it is infinitely more easy to watch and understand than paintball.

And the majority of people only want that. Most people just want paintball as a once or twice a year thing for stag do's etc. Most of those people would have apsolutly no interest in sup air, with or without tv coverage.
true. the other thing that puts people off paintball is the costs. teens in particular will be put off by the costs as its a fair bit to get all the stuff needed.

Yes, its true. Football was big before TV. Football was getting covered and advertised in newspapers before the advent of TV. The first FA cup back in 1871 was attened by 2000 people. Early competitions we decided by teams not being able to afford to play as often as by the best team winning on the day.

Now, does this sound familar? teams not being able to afford to compete a complete season, attendance figures of a few thousand. Millenium series?....

Thats a great argument apart from the fact that your talking about something which was the norm over a 130 years ago.

What your basically saying is that in 110 years or so paintball will be as big as football.

I cant wait. Exciting times lie ahead.

yep, might have been helped if paintball had also started in public schools too. Espically when the old boys went on to be powerful people, owning newspapers etc...

Aye, its something to look forward to, Rome wasn't built in a day and all that.....

because sup air doesnt get enough promotion...
Even if you'd promote the living bejeesus out of Sup, it'd never get bigger than the Rambo thing, as that's something that many a small boy (and grown male) has fantasies about. Big, inflatable....things....don't have the same sex appeal to most people, even if we do tie bandanas around our heads Rambo style.

But, there is room for growth. Just nothing on a biblical scale.
