The outer shell (which happens to be what you see)

The rest is made from low grade ally

I am not bashing the Ion. I owned one of the first in the u.k. They rip nicely, but are no match for todays high-end gats.

smart move by SP in my eyes

they know that everyone who gets an ion ends up replacing the barrell, feedneck and on/off. so if they just sell it straight off like that thyve got no1 saying "well to make it any good u need a barrell, on/off....blah blah"

only thing is no diffrent trigger. which is normally changed but most get a CP trigger.

good marketing idea in my eyes. ion without the hassle really. gratz SP

yeh but thats part of the fun of having a ion, is upgrading it, if you get a dm6, theres nothing really much to upgrade. altho owning a dm6 is a better payoff in the end. but thats not the point for me really

It just makes me laugh when someone buys an Ion and then so many up's that it costs more than just buying an Ego/Angel/'Trix would have cost in the first place
