If your using the original Ion feedneck with the O rings inside it, then wrapping tape around the egg neck won't help at all.........gaffer tape around the whole gun and hopper combo might just do the trick:( ;) :D

Go but a proper clamping feedneck, it's the most essential upgrade that you can do to an Ion:D

I do not rate the q-lok

I have known of two to come out of thr box distorted to the point where the paint will not fit through the neck.

I expect no less from those American Nazi's the Gardners! Give me a new designz / hybrid over a q-lok any time!
Guess you just had a bad experience. Got me a Q-Lock and it was fine all day at training. Recommended :)

18 months on and mines still fine and i play all year, snow or sunshine
There's nowt wrong with the Q-lock apart from one small detail....................Smart Parts do not have quality control, they just sell everything:eek:

They're are many other far better designed and made feed necks on the market but the Q-lock is probably the cheapest and most readily available out there.
After all who sells the feednecks that you stated? ........well there's erm, oh err give me a minute????
Who sells the Q-lock.......everyone !
So as far as the advice given to a new player goes, i think it's good and true, but you do also have a point just most new players won't be pimping their gats straight away:cool:

You obviously had a good one. My experiences with SP have generaly been poor.

To be honest I hate Smart Parts. (I have however previously owned 2 gats from them)

I am now in the lifetime Planet Eclipse clup!:)
