Hi,
Well basically my ION doesn't shoot straight. By that, I mean it isn't consistant.
Last time I was playing, I was trying to do some pretty long shots. However, sometimes the balls would go for miles, and sometimes they wouldn't do much at all. They were also all over the place in terms of going left and right.
My barrel was clean and I was firing slowly so it wasn't drop off.
I had old lube on the bolt and I was using cheapish paint. (Procaps, but I'll get back to that later.) My detents are also a bit worn.
I have an after market barrel (Freak with a .689 insert.) and I have an aftermarket bolt (Firebolt.).
I am using the stock dwell from a T-Board and I'm running at just over 180PSI. I still need to set this up but I'm going to wait till my QEV gets back from a return before I bother to set that up.
Now I initially thought that it was because I am using cheap paint, however I've seen a friend's Angel A1 firing cheap paint VERY consistantly. He wasn't firing as far and he was firing inside his garage however so there wasn't any wind.
I've also seen many videos of people hitting targets very easily from reasonable distances while using cheap paint. They wouldn't be able to do this with an inconsistent marker so that also shows me that it's my marker's fault and not the paint.
I've since lubed my bolt with Dye Slick Lube and the bolt moves A LOT more easily, I'm also going to clean and lube my reg today once I get a 9/16" deep wall socket, as that has never been done. I havn't yet tried firing it after I lubed the bolt, however.
So what is the source of my inconsistency ? What can I do to make it better ? I know that I've listed a few things that are wrong with my ION here, but I'm unsure which are causing the problems and I might have overlooked something.
Cheers,
-Andrew.
