Well this was my first Millenium event and i could see the issues that surrended the weekend.
Main issue for me was safety on and off the field, particularly the M5 fields which were on a flat but rather dirty all weather pitch. We were lucky to play the Saturday morning when it was not nearly as offensive as the afternoon (although we did fall victim to the bunkers blowing away)
Organisation was a complete bag of poo on the Sunday after the nightmares caused with the weather on Saturday, but I suppose that could have happened anywhere?
Second issue was security, inside and outside the main gates. Car park was a joke, we drove in looking at all the popped windows and were like "****, how many breakins!".
Inside the grounds the security based on the colour of your wristband etc was ok initially, but didn't let all M5 registered players into the players area on Friday which i found a little strange, maybe we could have got another band of sorts to allow this.
Other than checking the bands, security was lacks and stuff got nicked from inside the players staging areas and around the fields.
Also, a little bit of a cheek to say that all fields were XL turf when quite blatently they weren't.
CPL field was mint and so was the viewing area with a real good atmosphere, but a shame we couldn't watch other Div 1 teams like the Kellys do their thing if we didn't get in the players areas.
Trade stands were great, lots of bargains were had, great friendly advice, so plus point!
But overall it seemed to me that corners were cut bigstyle and i hope they make it all worthwhile next year.
