A little grease on the tank o-ring won't kill anyone:rolleyes: but better to use a synthetic grease as opposed to a petroleum based product like Vaseline. Which you just happened to have lying around........;) You have to avoid any lube around the fill nipple but a little synthetic oil or grease on the tank threads won't hurt.

*Removes Vaseline from tank*

*Looks around for some proper paintball lube*

Do you recommend any lube specific, or just any paintball lube?

Thanks for the help :)

Any paintball lube from a paintball website should be - WDP love juice from lips is probally the best to use on ASA/regulator threads.

Well I'm looking for a lube that'll be suitable for ASA threads as well as the bolt etc. Will checkout Shocker lube, thanks.

Well I don’t know how good shocker lube is but i know WDP love juice can be used on all markers and all parts. All you have to do is put a few drops in your ASA and most parts of your marker will be lubricated as the air travels through the different marker parts.

You just have to dry fire 20 shots or so - and take the barrel of or you get sticky streaks of lubricant down the inside.

One very important safety note not connected to your Vaseline one ...

DO NOT UNSCREW YOUR TANK BY HOLDING THE TANK AND TURNING.

In other words, make sure you unscrew the the regulator from the marker, not the bottle from the regulator - otherwise you could end up with a very dangerous torpedo in your hands!

The thread between the tank and regulator is ment to have Loctite on anyway isn't it ? Sometimes they (The ASA) are so tight that you just cant unscrew it by turning the regulator.

I think it's better to just make sure you watch the regulator while unscrewing, to make sure that the regulator is turning with the tank.

If in doubt, check with someone who knows about air systems.
