Rosie, the drop in one's ran the wires to a connector on the board. Similar to the connector for a DM membrane pad. Just a flat connector and 2 pins on th board. Strawb could probably get you the right one. Just trace the wires from the springs

I will have a look, I couldn't fit my batteries & adaptor in without taking the springs out?

Yeah. I took out the entire spring assembly and replaced it with the adaptor.
