PM5 is lighter and easier to maintain, and just generally technologically supreme as its a year more advanced basically.

Also a PM5 will hold its price better than a DM4 I imagine.

really down to the preferences of the user which is the better of the two though :)

I've had both, the Proto is a little lighter, a little smaller, not quite as easy on paint, but more gas efficient than the DM4.

The DM4 is a little bit quiter, runs at slightly lower pressures, looks awesome compared to the Proto.

Both have the same trigger, and the software on the boards are not radically different from one another.

As for Protos being easier to maintain, well, with the exception of the DM4 on/off at the front, day to day maintainance is exactly the same. The DM4 bolt may be a bit longer than a Proto one, but the lubrication of the o-rings is exactly the same.

I would pick the DM4 for looks and slightly softer shooting characteristics.

sorry for that dident meen any thing by that :D and how is the lighter frame on the proto ??? is it worth buying. sorry i know it's off topic but i had to ask :p
The UL frames are awesome!!! I'm guessing they're all fairly similar shape/size to the DM6 UL. If so they're MEGA comfortable...best hold i've had on a gun and it's mighty light as well (thou that will also be the body of the gun as well of course  )

The UL frame is ok, it did shed a bit of weight, but is it worth spending all that cash on it?

I'd say no myself.

It didn't improve my ROF personally, but I didn't notice any real performance benefit. Nice if there is already one fitted to the gun (a la DM6), but I would be just as happy with a decent custom trigger performance-wise on any other DM/PM.

Horses for coarses....:)
