I'm mad as hell and I'm not gonna take it anymore

I read baca's thread about xfactor and I see what you guys are talking about. It wasn't so much of an xfactor thing but a 16th team thing. I'm curious though if he'd have felt the same if it was a top ranked team from the NPPL, a proven pro team, as opposed to a team who played d1 xball.

But doesn't adding a single team bring the league to an even 16 teams, more even than 15 at least. That removes wildcard places which I think is a good thing; finish in the top half of your bracket and you're in, simple. I have no idea what happened behind the scenes so I don't know what was done to add Xfactor, which might have been more/less than what the other teams had put into the pot.
Aight, Boo, a few things just for you.

Re: negativity. (You mentioned it somewhere in the thread.) Easy. A) I'm not a cheerleader. B) Paintball is fulla peeps who see only the sunny side of the street--and this used to be a lot more true than it is now. C) If I were to present the various issues of Paintball in either a "Hey, don't you agree this is great?" or a balanced here's both sides, what do you think, the result would likely be as wishy-washy as most posters remain. However, if I take a strong position and even possibly annoy or offend folks they may be more inclined--once they stop hyperventilating--to think about the issue. Maybe it's just me but I don't recall anybody actually doing anything about, say, reffing, until peeps started making a big issue of it.

Yes, I'd have responded exactly the same way regardless of the team. No where did I mention the quality of play X-Factor would or wouldn't bring to the league because it was, and is, irrelevant, to my original argument.

As to analyzing X-Factor's result-- I could but I won't. For one, it could be misinterpreted as a knock on X-Factor and it wouldn't be. They played hard, they played smart and they did what they had to do to get through. Kudos to them.

Yes, 16 teams is an even number. Yes, avoiding wildcards--particularly the way they were being chosen--is a good thing. That doesn't negate the negatives tho.
It didn't happen this time but just wait. If Trauma had beaten the Ironmen you would have had 3 teams in one bracket of four with identical points who had alternately all beaten each other in one way or another. Now pick your two teams moving on. First, points scored in prelim. Second, head to head. Oops! Third, point differential. Keep in mind divisional "winner" matters in next round seeding and one team who scored the same number of wins as the other two isn't going to go forward. When it happens this will be one result of the three preliminary matches instead of four that is statistically meaningless.
How X-Factor got in is not all that important. Why is a lot more interesting and it had nothing to do with avoiding wildcards.

And for Chitown: X-Factor didn't get thru at Trauma's expense. Different brackets. Trauma didn't get thru cus they got beat by Oakland and the Ironmen.

If you got any more questions, Boo, ask away. :)

It's not like 3-way ties are unique to 4-team brackets. It can happen with 5 teams per bracket. One team wins 4 matches, three teams win 2 matches each.

They got in... because they beat 2 of the teams in their bracket?

Ooops. That's what you get when you apply the old method to the new bracket structure.

But, you've ignored the most important issue here Baca: Is Moscow in Europe?

Into the league, d'oh. Not into the quarters.

Story of your life.

Traditional history identifies the Urals as the eastern extent of "Europe" so, by that criteria, yes, Moscow is in Europe.

Planet Piper away from you freaks!

But pollicially if it was part of Europe that means we (europeans) should be able to freely enter the country the same as we can in France (not that anyone likes going to fance :D :D ) and seeing as we need visas etc to get into Russia it is not classed (Polically) as part of Europe.

Isn't it the Soviet Union?
I'm not sure, all I know is that it's where the vile commie threat hangs out, and that if the west isn't careful, Stalin will invade the US through Cuba, which is why Cubans are so dangerous.

At least thats what they tell us in the US....

In the mean time, we live in fear, because apparently, fear makes us shop more.
I'm not sure how Al Qaida fit into all this, but I'm sure they must have something to do with communism, as they are evil too. Oh, and islamic fascists - everyone knows they are the reason gas prices are too expensive.

Roll on GWIII, thats what I say. Lets get this trilogy on the road so Hollywood can get a few more box-office dollars. USA!!!

I forgot WMD's. They are scary too, in fact I must go out and spend some more money, or the WMD's might get us. WMD's are only OK if Israel have them, because those guys are on our side. Everyone knows the jews were persecuted in WWII, so that makes it OK for them to slaughter hundreds of Palestinian civilians.

Sorry if my facts are off, I only watch CNN.....
