Football boots are a must in wet conditions for grass games to me able to get grip. Astros for if it’s dry if you use trainers you will always run out of grip across the different surfaces

my goto shoes are decent hiking boots or more army issue boots . for the fact of I play alot woodsball prefer the solid soles and ankle support, waterproof and keep feet warm in cold weathers . but I could understand the use of football boots for speedballers for out right light and fast .

North Wales, Ludlow soon!
Yes

whether they are suitable will depend.
In the woods I would say they are unsuitable
On a good flat speedball field they would be allowed .... unless the surface is unsuitable for the type of stud etc
So no rules against studs then? Was thinking of an AstroTurf style stud but concerned about ankles.... would rugby or American football cleats be best?

A few guys I know use American football boots
I’ve not worn rugby boots for decades

For ankles it will depend on how you run and turn etc in boots without ankle support, twist fast and grip well without ankles support and you could twist your ankle
With support then you’re obviously better covered

Wow... this is an old thread! Nike Sharks - American Football cleats. They do (or used to at least) low, mid and high versions. The mids are great.

Salomon trail running shoes in GTX to cope with rainy days.

Merrel or Lowa mid boots for more wood land type stuff protect the ancles again GTX.

Not much else dampens the spirit more than cold wet feet for a day or weekend.
