That may be NXL Europe. I don't think Max and crew are going to the states.

@Dusty, can you offer any assistance on the point of flying markers into Dublin?

In reality having the marker in your posession over here is unlikely to be an issue. Getting it on and off the plane is a different story. You can do it a dozen times and get away with it, it only takes it to get you caught once though. I was stopped on the way home from England to belfast once, i think it could have been Gatwick. Lucky not to be arrested to be honest.

Quick bit of research suggests you need a licence from the Garda.

So perhaps the ambiguity of the July event can be interpreted as follows:-

Hiring, say, the Olympic Park is expensive. So perhaps the NXL is trying to negotiate with the Garda to obtain some sort of blanket exemption from 500-odd people having to drop 40 euros each on a firearms certificate. Perhaps by way of a certificate each player can print out and present at customs. Though knowing customs - and players - that's a big ask.

If the negotiation fails, the event takes place in London.
Amend that to "hiring the Olympic Park is ****ing expensive" plus the associated costs of accommodation and transport will bankrupt all but Impact and Heat, Dublin is the next best option on the National Lampoons vacation shortlist!

As @Dusty knows way more than I do, Ireland is 99% "ahhhh yer grand boy" and 1% "whats this then!?".

I personally have been fine. Travelling for years with Charlie from Assalla, we meet each other at the airports around europe. Now does this mean we're right? or are we correct? It's a different story.

I would LOVE for the Gardai to say "ahhh a chunk of money? **** it yer grand lads c'mon in!"

Even doing it by the book you will need the stars to be in alignment and get a firearms officer who actually knows what they are talking about. I **** you not i know a guy got handed a ticket for not wearing a seatbelt on a motorbike.....

Jesus man...

I love Ireland, but there are some backwards ass things that the cops do. It's a total 'good ol' boys club' here and all about who you know, not what you know. Hell for a country with such strict firearms laws, every single week there are 1-2 shootings in Dublin with the Gardai begging for leads and tips to who possible could have done it.

Saying that, I would love for the event to be here, solely for the 'craic'. Players will enjoy it here, much like Amsterdam. It's a hell of a town in summer, for nightlife. People will have a great time.

Are people ignoring the biggest reason for Dublin deliberately?? It's the closest Americans can get to being on dry land and not leave the US! The Olympic park was a typical paintball pipedream .Fine until the price is considered and the reason events are held in the back of beyond came back to front and centre. In Ardingly you had grass fields with tarmac service roads ,permanent toilets, acres of designated car park proper stands on a showground that horse ,classic cars agricultural shows, rock and pop concerts find perfectly acceptable .With 2 proper pubs, serving real food not at grossly inflated prices. But for some reason this was'nt Rock n roll enough for a tiny minority sport who thinks it should be in the Olympics . So now they're playing in a country with zero paintballing tradition ,but has the attraction of flying in a load of US teams who can be persuaded to come on a Euro jolly when a load of actual Europeans choose not to fly /float to an event they used to live near .
