As the token American. Trump is terrifying. He's basically a total wind up artist who's using prejudice and fear to capture voters.
There are still a lot of racist, poorly educated humans of voting age in the states, and that's who's voting for him. There's no way he or any other republican is going to win the presidency.
Now the really scary part is that Clinton, who has a vast history of breaking laws, and killing people who try and bring them to light (back when Bill was governor), and who blatantly broke federal laws around secrecy, appears to be the strongest candidate.
Sanders is the most sane, and logical choice. But he's fighting an uphill battle against the established electoral voting system. The sitting senate members want no part of the changes he'd demand. So they'll tell their super delegates to vote for Clinton even if Sanders wins the votes of the people.
(Just because you win the people's vote doesn't mean the electoral college members have to vote that way, and the super electoral voters that somehow get more votes than others, is a total goat rodeo of a process).
Basically...I'm happy living in Ireland at this point.
