I would like to thank @Frenshy for the info he has given regarding my question on site covers, and as I have played a couple of NvS events I can see where this work goes to protect the players (and site).

I have played Nvs events, Warfighters, Urban and also snoreline and a couple of these events have been at Mod sites. Now i'm not just saying this to stick the knife in more, but 3 of these events have been well run with NO issues from my point of view. The other one was at Sennybridge and I was camping and although the event venue and playing was good, there were a few things aside from this that were not delivered or were in my eyes not acceptable, that afterwards me and the group of friends that went decided not to go to further events hosted by tb. This was all before it all kicked off.

H - I realise the remaining clump of ballers who still go to his events are primarily interested in playing to the exclusion of getting involved in politics etc ... but taking his most recent event where OgreDan gave us all a comprehensive run down of all the broken promises and general malaise when attending, surely those people are gonna be well pis$ed-off at barnett for yet another debacle.

I readily concede the venues are sometimes pretty cool but surely that only goes so far?
When bands don't turn up, the food's crap, not enough staff, queues are too long etc etc etc - and on top of that, a whole slew of lies that attempt to justify or explain the shortfalls and/or fuhk-ups ..it sounds like a frikkin nightmare and yet a diminishing number still attend ... I just don't get it .....

I think that as soon as other event organisors look at running similarly 'cool sites' in a significantly more organised way, are honest and deliver on their promises the end will be well and truly nigh.

The following people can be 100% trusted:-

Ged Green @ NPF

Jim Frensham and Tim Taylor @ NvS & Warped Sports

Dave Hodder - Ronnie Hollington @ Mayhem Abridge

Steve Bull

Ainsley @ CPPS

Steve Baldwin @ Millennium & GiSports

PS If I've forgotten anyone [which is more than likely] please message me and I'll include you in the list above just as long as I know how you do things.
The guys above are all first rate promoters who do things the right way and can be 100% relied upon.
They won't rip you off, they won't promise things that don't turn up or happen.
They are all true professionals in every sense of the word.
Their customers always come first .....

As I say, I might have forgotten some people but just so's there is no confusion - here are the people you CANNOT trust:-

barnett

sables - [This refers to any event that he assists barnett [in any way]. I'll reserve judgement upon and it would be unfair of me to pass comment on his retail business].

Avoid at all costs !!!

I like your idea and thinking BUT, Lets look at this and take Urban as an example. I have already played one of their events this year and am booked in for a second one at the end of november. On their flyers its says these events will be played if only 2 players turn up. Now, it obviously costs them for the site and equipment and staff and whatever other items they need. Some business can afford to do something and run at a loss as a way of encouraging business (this is a worldwide thing and not just for paintball) and so may try something once or twice. After a period of time if said event is not drawing the numbers and revenue then the owner must decide if it can justify doing it again. Thinking back to the event I played at Longmoor, I would imagine that this paid for itself but was not a big money spinner, but bearing in mind the other events they have had there would imagine that these are now turning into profitable events and I cant wait to play there again next month.

I am not dissing Urban or Gareth in any way or form and must say he is a very nice bloke that I spoke to at the event and have had communication with on FB, the point I'm trying to make is big events cost money and promoters have to earn money from events to pay the bills, and as much as they are doing it for us the players, ultimately they want a good event and to earn some money.

The events I have previously mentioned I have no problems with and will happily pay my hard earned cash to them for a kick arse event. Playing at a weird and wonderful venue on the one hand could be a really good crack, but if its not designed for a firefight, a weird place could then turn into a bucket of S**t !!!

From rewinds post, I do feel that event organisers are always looking outside the "box", but ultimately this costs money !!

Guys, carry on what you are doing - you all have a varied good customer base that will keep coming back to you and due to the less than fantastic "other promoters" events, you may well see an increase.

Cheers all.
