Hi

I'm not that experienced but from what I can tell unless you've got a ton of sponsers it's not a guaranteed living.

With a ton of sponsors its not a living.

Sponsors are a form of support, primarily in paintball a discount.
A sponsorship could be a discount, e.g. you get cheaper paint, it could be free stuff, but there's not such thing as free stuff (Not saying you can't get goods for free, but you need to give back something for it)
The sponsorship is part of the business, either a discount to secure your repeated sales or to secure advertising a spart of your relationship. You wear the logos and get seen playing, hopefully winning by using that product.
There can be other reasons for the sponsor - it becomes tax decuctable, but that works for charitable donations, the sponsor has an interest in your team, e.g. a relative is in the team and the business give transport or held fund stuff.
