Possibly in the future when the sport has grown, but at the moment, no.
There are very few sports that people can be truely 'professional' in the sense that they can make a living out of it
Note how many athletes / Olympians are in the army/navy/air force, there are few jobs that someone can keep down with a decent wage and put time into training, travel and competing
Also spot the news articles that come up that x gold medalist has lost their post that gave them 7 days per week to train
Football is not realy an exception to the rule, it's a money spinner that both has the public subsidising the wages in promo materiels, season tickets and Sky sports and is one of the few areas of busiess that a club can rock up millions in debt then fold and sell up for £1
Paintball as a sport has had its time in the limelight with tv etc, perhaps one day it will be the worldwide phenomena and paintball pros will be moddeling pants on billboards (real pants not trousers)
Paintball is pretty popular but isn't going to pay the players enough to play, live, travel the world and have a private life
