plus how many players will want to take their Rif's out of the country to possibly have trouble bringing them back
ukpsf had a clarification with the home office last year and publishing a letter with 2 possible exemptions from the vcra:

1) home office / dpp / courts may accept 'frangible' from other acts and totaly exclude paintball from the VCRA therefore a magfed paintball gun would not be a RIF or IF

2) membership of a scheme may classify magfed players as 'skirmishers' and therefore be an acceptable RIF defence under the vcra
This would include but not exclusively be ukpsf membership
Rap4uk, magfed command scheme memberships etc would also most likely be considered valid

European travellers may therefore get a copy of the letter and carry their scheme membership details

Another concern is if travelling through germany without an f stamp

Scotland have introduced licencing to cover air weapons

There is a full review being conducted on all firearms, air weapons, vcra and related asbo legislation in the UK so all is subject to change

** edited to fix the non frangible typo but please note a new law thread has been created **

Thing is the skirmisher defence that airsofters enjoy because of ukara was set up before the vcra came into effect and is home office recognised, as it stands the ukpsf is the only body for paintball as a whole that is home office recognised so any other membership to a "club" wouldn't be valid defense as it would have been started after the legislation came into force.
As for the first point about the non frangible, paintballs are frangible but that'd still have no effect on other acts such as the vcra which goes on the looks of something rather than nature of what it does, the t15 for example is nigh on 1:1 scale with an ar15, saw a picture a while back of a tacamo kitted phenom next to an ar15 and at a glance it's hard to tell them apart, as a paintballer it's easier to but to any non regular player or member of the public it'd be tricky to tell.
But I digress...

Far be it from me to indulge in gossip [/talkingbollox] but one of my reliable sources has just informed me that paintball's very own resident megalomaniac, timothy 'hard-man' barnett, has recently been spouting how he's gonna be looking after his 'sponsored' teams at forthcoming Millennium events.

However, there's one slight technical hitch to barnett' s somewhat premature, almost smug declarations of support.
I'm afraid timothy won't even be able to support his own scrotum [it's debatable if he even has one of these] at any Millenium event let alone support any of his team's with paint.
It would seem that the maximum number of paint suppliers in the Millennium has already been achieved leaving barnett well and truly out in the cold.

Cynics may well suggest that barnett should have left well alone when he decided to pis$ off one of the owners of the Millennium, Steve Baldwin, by insulting him so inadvisedly and so arrogantly.
Mind you, it may not have anything to do with it but life does have this unerring knack of surprising us all every now and again.
Steve's far too professional to allow personal bias to cloud his judgement, isn't he ....

Speculation will of course be rife but we will have to wait and see how it all unfolds but rest assured we'll keep you all up to date as and when anything new comes in.
But for now, we can most certainly acknowledge that there's a price to pay when associating with barnett in any capacity.

Seems like people should think very seriously about how one's interests are potentially compromised when deciding to associate with this piece of sh!t in any way whatsoever.
You reap what you sew ......

Banil, true, the last spot was taken by HK thus ensuring there was no room at the inn for anyone else.

Some people might be speculating upon the chronology of events leading up to barnett's exclusion or indeed the need for such a strict limit upon paint sponsors and just how rigorous that needs to be.

Of course, these points will be open for debate but what cannot be denied is the fact that barnett committed a profound mistake in counting his chickens before they had hatched thus ending up with all those eggs on his face, more like a frikkin omelette actually.

I'll mix my metaphors even more by suggesting that barnett really didn't appreciate the way in which some of those chickens were gonna come home to roost - how embarrassing - he was in so much of a hurry to be the Billy Big-Bollox Benefactor by telling all and sundry how generous he was in looking after his teams at the Millennium events that he didn't factor in some of his past deeds and just who he's pissed off in the past.

I have zero doubt barnett will try and gloss over this episode by either claiming it's a conspiracy or that it's no big deal, but the truth is, it is a fuhkin big deal and it ain't no conspiracy.

I think some individuals need to take a long hard look at any associations they might have with barnett because sometimes in life, people are judged upon the company they keep ..

Paintball is a relatively small community and if there's one social skill that needs to be addressed in an industry such as ours, you don't insult or betray any of the existing hierarchy, and it's barnett's sheer arrogance that had him doing just that, time after time after time .... sooner or later, there's a price to be paid ... but hey, what do I know, it's just my opinion really :)

I'm a country member!
I was under the impression that any deal to supply paint at the MS would go through Will and Janek at Valken Europe rather than through Shoreline, after all, those guys work direct for Gino. Has he really poisoned the brand that much in the eyes of the MS board members (as a result of causing problems for at least two of the stakeholders)? Or is there an ulterior motive connected to Valken's almost exclusive support of the CPS and the ongoing rivalry between the two series?

Speculation is rife Pete but regardless of who it would have gone through, it didn't stop barnett from trying to act the Billy Big Bollox in assuming the role of benefactor to his so-called 'sponsored' teams at forthcoming Millennium events.

Maybe he shouldn't have taken such things for granted which is a pretty risky thing to do when you've pis$ed off so many people in our industry as he has.
And let's face it, the real reasons may never surface but for a chosen few but I know this much, barnett's poisonous influence wouldnt have done him any favours whatsoever - and so who knows if it was indeed a deal-breaker.
And let's face it, you don't go and insult and antagonize the owner of the Millennium as barnett did at that meeting and then expect to be welcomed with open arms when you want to supply your team's at his events.
But let's assume the reason that barnett can't maintain his smug-ass declarations of benevolence being down to the fact of a technicality ... Yeah, let's assume that but from where I'm sitting, associations with barnett are proving to be a liability and somewhere along the line, losses will have to be cut.

PS As for ulterior motives resulting from the exclusive support of another league?
I think there maybe some mention somewhere of a condition that precludes companies from being a paint sponsor at Millenniums if you are supporting a rival league.
I could be wrong but it does ring a bell inside my big bald head somewhere .....

Is it ulterior motives though? Some would call it repercussions.

Every action having an equal and opposite reaction and all that :)
