I'm surprised this is even being discussed. I think every single team expected the valken cup to be a tim barnett special. I'm even more surprised that we even entertain valken and tim barnett. He probably reads these threads and then goes and has a temper tantrum like the 5 year old who wants a bag of sweets and gets told they aren't allowed them 'cause they've been a naughty boy and then proceeds to kick and stomp his feet. Personally, I think its madness we even allowed him in the tournament scene. Look at his scenario games, then look at him coming to CPPS. Bringing Valken paint and shorepish. Yet we still have the numptys who say he is an alright guy who doesn't do any wrong. Hitler was an "alright" guy before he decided to take on the world and kill millions of people. (An extreme comparison but hopefully you catch the message) Bluewater is trying to get a slice of everything and is causing such disruption its ridiculous. Get him, valken and shoreline out and continue to enjoy tournament without the head banger.

credit where credit is due, there was games being shown on TVs, there was free food and beer, there was a DJ and some hired girls for people to look at. Its a shame about the prizes being in decline through the season, I've went from seeing a cheque from dye, to a goodiebag from empire and now teams got nothing for winning events at round 4.
I can maybe see the logic in that it was meant to maybe showcase what valken do for their sponsored teams since i believe they have personal arrangements with teams who they will give cash rewards to upon winning events. So seems like everybody under the valken umbrella would've had a good time, been rewarded and looked after. As an event sponsor it didn't seem to bring any benefit for other teams (but to be fair other than handing out prizes there is nothing really unique about the other events, except maybe the 1v1 tournament).

We weren't given wristbands, it wouldn't have been hard considering all the breakout teams were on one side of the pits, all day.
Also, the fact they talk about how many new teams signed up for paint deals shows the motivation of running the bbq party cinema tent.

Personally the least I would of expected is the title sponsors representative to be on hand to shake hands and hand over trophies to the winning teams. This pretty much standard practice in most sports.
Even if you don't like people sometimes you just have to be a good sport and show up!
We even walked up to the trader area to see our sponsors carrying the trophy but know one came over with the wristbands or a congratulations here's a beer nothing...

Sounds like a cluster.

I miss the days of showing up to WDP heaven and getting juice fruit and smoking hot women.
Hell even the full ride empire sponsorships were decent. But as a sponsored team I knew who to talk to and where to go. If they didn't make that clear either blame the team captain for being out of the loop or the sponsor for being lazy.

As I'm not familiar with the exact situation, does Valken bring enough industry clout to the field to make it worth it that they're there? Are their teams taken care of? It's a huge company and on the outside it'd make sense to get them involved. To drop prices for people buying in bulk or sponsored events etc.
if the promoter is a greedy dick. Then there isn't a lot you can do except boycott.

In the Zone, Shredding FOOLS!
Well "Rumour has it" Valken was meant to be the paint supplier for Bristol Stallions in the Student Cup.
So they all rocked up on game day but there was no Bluewater/Valken tent. They got slightly nervous as to why there paint supplier wasn't there. Just before the first game i believe there captain had a phone call saying that they wasn't coming and they had to get their paint from the CPPS guys instead as last minute.

But like i said, This is just "Rumour" The Stallions would know more i'm sure.
