The Marcus Davies trademark 'Number 1 finger salute'

Top stuff, last time i saw him was when he beefed up as well in about 99!

Remember pulling Dave S armband (NWCdays) and calmly walking back under the tape to the field of play as Dave argued 'where am I hit judge!!!'

Great breakout Dave............

Sure was, run by the one and only Jim Frensham from Warped. Took me a while when I first met him to figure the name until I heard it in his accent.

Just seen the advert for the excalibur and really feeling my age now as I remember it from when I worked at the Mayhem shop in Brum. Time for my meds. :)

Wow some names from the past here! :)

Great to see many of these old schoolers still loving it and involved at all levels of our great game.

Norfolk n Chance FTW lolol

Had great times from 1990 on!......

Kooh Dow Field 1 ooooooo Mrs!!!! LOVED it when the Preds, NWC, Tigers, Banzai etc came to the Mids and it was a really big thing for us to even dare to take a team to "The South" lol !

.....and still draggin my sorry ass round the field (or up and down the coaching box) - my 20th (and likely last lol !!) year of tourny ball coming up in 2010

Met some great people and have much to thank people like Sid & Dave Spittal, Big Dave Guile, Rafe & Bart, Phil Ham, and of course Pete, who all put a word in or helped hook me up stateside in the early days - or in Petes case stopped me being lynched after a TWO for 1 (oops too young too keen! lol) when playing for All Americans II about 15 years ago! He was with AA then and suffice to say no-one was too pleased with the mouthy wee jock! lol

Still a few of the Manchester massive around, ex Banzais like Flash and of course Ledz still shooting fools around the world :) - also chris edwards, been around since he was a baby I think! - and I had a text from "wrong way" Rob Yates only this week asking if I fancy a game with the Man Lions!!!

Also still see some other Midlands peops around like Mick Arkle, Julie Dyke, and of course Simon Cole who all still play Mills regularly (remember Fat Freddies Cats? / Big Red One? / Jesters? etc from the Midlands)

good times hehe

We both been round the block a few times Jimbo and even if it does sound a bit like two old farts, I honestly do think we had the best of times.
Being one of a few extremely small group of Brit individuals who were lucky enough to be asked to play for one of the top American sides, it was an absolute privilege and I'm sure one we'll both treasure.
I am soooo grateful I had that experience as I am sure you are too.

You know it! :) - and to this day I encourage young players, even my own team guys, to take any opportunities which come their way to get experience playing in the U.S.!

Who were the guys who played?/turned up? in the long leather coats and hats - bushwackers? or someone else? Ive been wracking my brains -they were at my first ever tourny, at NPF, either late 1989 or early 1990?

God, it makes you pine for the days when the Midlands had a vibrant tourny scene to call its own with some real characters such as Lamby and Tim from the Ratpack and Vern from the Big Red One. Good times, shame it all went a bit wrong really. :D
