@AmyStroodle this is true there are a number of people who do cheat which is why you then empty a full mag (500 rnds) on full auto into them and call "cheat" to nearest marshall. Kinda ruins the game a bit though

I had a kid empty a mag 30ft above my head then claim I wasn't taking my hits. Every time he looked out out I pinged him in the forehead, because I was a paintballer though the marshalls all started gathering round me and accused me of not being "sportsmanlike" about it.

The irony was, the technical ability of a tourney baller transfers very well to airsoft and my brothers and I were shooting fools out left right and centre yet the airsofters refused to take it when we shot them. Definitely there's more of a superiority complex there, they also go to great effort with their "look".

I like the guns though, on an honest playing field airsoft is great and better yet, cheap :)

I tried airsoft but wasn't keen, the main problem I had with it was not with people cheating but with people accusing each other of not taking their hits.

A good portion of them did not seem to understand that just because you're aiming at some one and pull the trigger that doesn't mean you hit them! The other problem seemed to be that the amount of clothing some of them wear means they can genuinely not feel when they have been hit.

I reckon they should have a rule that you are only allowed a long sleeve tee shirt on your top half (used to play this rule with airsoft guns in the early 90's when me and my brother were kids), that way people would be in no doubt whent they were hit. Mind you I maybe a sadist since I think the same rule should apply in woodsball!

@Dusty I agree that paintball skills transfer well, you can see them little white balls floating towards you far too easy and just move out of the way - when I was dodging in and out of my cover I was accused of not playing properly.

I experienced this exact thing, especially seeing as there were strings of full auto balls coming it was much easier to trace back too.

on the flip side, ive marshalled tournaments before, and the number of times players in game will demand i go check the guy they are shooting at is out. Problem is, half the time, the other guy isn't even in the bunker anymore. But after the game, they are not shy about telling you how lazy you are, and how many people they think they shot.
