My first gun was a 'cocker also. The very fact that you are able to muck about with them makes them unsuitable for newbies. The moment something happens, and the timing gets knocked out of whack then, for a newbie, it's a world of frustrating pain.

Modern 'newbie guns' such as an Etha are a lot more predictable, there's a lot less to go wrong and any issues are easy to diagnose and fix within minutes.

Hey looking to buy myself a marker somewhere around the price of £300, not much more preferably. To be used in amateur speed ball tourneys mostly as I joined a paintball society at Uni. I was thinking of something along the lines of an Invert Mini but if anyone has other suggestions they would be much appreciated, bare in mind I'm not too hot on paintball jargon, so specs of guns and parts I'm not too familiar with. ;)
Consider a Planet Eclipse Etha, brand new around £270 on LIPS and they are very good/reliable. If you need hopper & bottle also, there is a starter kit for £366 which includes those.
