Ego's are very reliable and don't require being fussed over like some other markers out there. If your son is attending events then its more than likely planet eclipse who made them would have a look at it if he had a problem. Even though they don't carry full spares for them any more. It might as be worth looking at etek 3 as is basically the same maker without the oled display.

As opinionated as I am, I'm not always the expert
Shane (nuts above) would be our team 'go to guy' for the ego

Egos are very good guns, and popular
They may be a big step for the new player - good equipment comes with the requirement to look after it

But I wouldn't want to put off a young player from a good gun if they will have a mind to understanding and looking after the gun
Others on the forum can recommend the ego or alternates - but getting to check out and have hands on with a few guns is the best way
My son has been playing a few years so he's not new at playing and he takes it seriously and looks after the one he has now very well he has been thinking about it for a while now and hasn't just rushed into it and even spoke with people at his paintball place where he plays. I've generally just left him to it as I don't really know a great deal about it all but it has really helped me so far talking to people on here at least this will help him too

Ps: if your son is tempted by the ego because he looks up to it as nice and shiney then it's too early to commit to that
If he's been around and has formed his own opinion and preferences then go ahead
Yes h sure has formed his own opinion on this so far about it I wouldn't pay a lot of money for something for him if he just wanted it because of the wrong reasons. But u sure have helped me so much thanksthanks

Pps: if you're in the south-ish, single, don't mind a 45 year old reasonably looking bloke I could always give more advice over a nice meal and wine
;-)
We'll I'm single lol but not south area more like north east lol meal and wine did sound nice though ha

Where does he play as you mentioned what we call punter sites (ipg)in your other post. As we could suggest sites more in tune with his future development in the sport. This could also have a cost saving on your purse which means more money to play.
