If it makes it hard to move around, then you've bought the wrong armour! I use an empire vest, eclipse elbow pads, and knee pads too. I simply wouldn't walk onto a field without the knee pads, and tend to go with the others as I play front and often slide or crawl on the elbows. If it's really hot, I sometimes lose the vest, but not often.
nah ... it is kind of personal thing ... i kind of hate some big thing on my chest when i moving around a lot ... :(

no armour.... takes the thrill and strategic play out of it. For example if you have armour that causes balls to bounce then your kinda cheating also if you have armour then you are more than likely to charge in everywhere not being hurt or feeling much pain, basically you turn into thoughs little 12 year olds on COD who think they can 360 no scope drop shot everyone and everything. Whereas if you don't have armour this teaches you to be more strategic and making the scenario and woods ball games more realistic, this saying providing your not the type of person who takes pain for pleasure.

I was advised on here to go down the path of avoiding the bulkier stuff and invest in a decent padded jersey and some elbow pads, purchased them and now waiting for them to arrive!

It looks unprofessional to be seen covered in bruises so full padding for me, also you only get one set of elbows, knees and ribs so best to take the upmost care of them ;-)

You are using it wrong if you want it to protect you from paintballs. The armour or pads are there to protect you from the floor when diving around.
That was why i mentioned the one set of elbows, knees and ribs :) although surely it would take the edge off of paintball impact, so maybe instead of it bleeding it just gets badly bruised?
