what i find is that whenever i mention that i play paintball to people i find that i usually have to explain that i dont run around in the woods playing scenario games (I do love them but i dont do it very often) and how supair is played. This has been a major part when works staff paintball day has popped up.
Completely agree, the same thing happens to me all the time.

If its okay, can I add this as a 6th point in my original post?

What If I was to suggest, that the paintball demographic suggests, that 75% of the people who play paintball are actually fat blokes who want to play army.
Then I would refer those 75% to the sport of airsoft and probably a dating website :p

Sure mate crack on. I have also heard the one about the frozen paintballs. whenever I cant really explain the difference between supair, scenario and rec days i usually show them a HK video on Youtube. It gets the message across and the videos make PB look cool

I agree with you on all points but the price. I know that high and even mid level E-Markers aren't cheap, but as a starter player, and given that those who get into PB often put a lot into it, especially at the start, that may not be such a problem. Even for those who want a gun, but don't have much to spend, stuff like the GOG eNVy is pretty cheap, yet offers good performance too. Especially given that the marker isn't the only thing governing PB success, I think people should look into what the real price actually is before they dismiss paintball as a "hobby" for people with some spare cash...
