I agree with you on all points but the price. I know that high and even mid level E-Markers aren't cheap, but as a starter player, and given that those who get into PB often put a lot into it, especially at the start, that may not be such a problem. Even for those who want a gun, but don't have much to spend, stuff like the GOG eNVy is pretty cheap, yet offers good performance too. Especially given that the marker isn't the only thing governing PB success, I think people should look into what the real price actually is before they dismiss paintball as a "hobby" for people with some spare cash...
So... why have you quit paintballing ;) Price? Lol

Id put this down mainly to lack of publicity and media coverage. I truly would love to see paintball return to the TV but realistically its fan base is far too small and therefore the TV companies are not going to challenge the viewing numbers of other sports channels that show football or rugby.
That is changing.

The Paintball Show just ran a successful first series in 2012 with a new series starting again in October 2013........but this time it will the on Paintball's own channel called Primetime Paintball.

Since launching Primetime Paintball a few companies have already signed up to make their own shows:

So get ready for a 30 minute studio show called Fat Bobs TV - showcasing all the latest kit from a range of manufacturers.

Also signed up are Planet Eclipse who will be making a brand new show for the channel called The Roster, season 2.

Of course, series 2 of The Paintball Show will also be part of the channel schedule.

Further companies are jumping on board and are in negotiations regarding having their own shows on the channel.

The Paintball Show had over 300,000 viewers per episode so I suppose the channel will build on that.

I think it is quite exciting as it will provide scope for the game as a whole and the different facets of the game a platform to showcase what the game is about.

So it looks as though Paintball is on TV and will be for a while yet..........its success will determine whether it stays though.

Please stop asking people to go play airsoft, like it's some kind of put-down.
I can't get airsoft guns into stock quick enough to meet demand. Airsoft was 47% of my sales in January and I can't keep up. I really need you guys to start telling people to play paintball instead. Trust me, airsoft does not need your help, tounge-in-cheek or otherwise.

...and you should really try to enjoy the air of superiority that Paintball has over Airsoft in this moment. It looks like Paintball may be Airsofts slightly retarded action-sport stepchild pretty soon. The business is migrating faster than I could possibly have imagined. You may not be seeing it in the UK, but North America is very much about airsoft at the moment, with demand far outstripping supply.

Just the same , out of the four of my friends who I started playing paintball with , 3 of them now play Airsoft and I went tournament, i have a feeling thats quite an accurate representation of how many people turn up every weekend to play their specific hobby ,

The airsoft walkons that are run by said friends can turn out 60-100 players, when I used to run walkons for tournament paintball we got maybe 15-20.

And here's the gravy - they spend more. Way more. They have 5-6 guns rotating all the time, not counting side-arms. Things that are considered high end in Paintball are entry level to your average airsoft customer. Your airsoft customer is also, on average, about 5-7 years older too, with more disposable income.

...and I have never been asked for sponsorship.

In another couple of years you won't be asking if paintball could be as popular as football, you'll be asking if it could be as popular as Airsoft.
